A bunch of dahlias in warm tones standing out against the black fabric: the black acts as the background and is left unstitched, so the flower colours look more intense and the work grows faster than you might expect.
The kit holds everything needed to stitch, threads included. When working on dark fabric, good lighting helps, ideally a magnifying lamp: the holes in black Aida are harder to see than on light counts, so this is not the best choice for a very first project. A hoop or frame to keep the fabric taut is useful too. Once finished, the piece is ready to be framed, with or without glass.
