A border of lavender, daisies and small field flowers with a few butterflies frames this white tablecloth, leaving the centre free for vases, plates or a bread basket. The design is printed straight onto the fabric, so you stitch by following the colours rather than counting threads, and the printing disappears in the first wash.
Alongside cross stitch, long stitch and stem stitch are used for stems and details, both explained in the instructions. The cloth comes already hemmed, so once the embroidery is done it only needs a gentle wash and pressing from the back. A frame or a large hoop makes working on such a wide piece easier.
