Description

A large-format portrait built on subtle skin tones and on the blues and oranges of the headwrap and jewellery: there are many colour changes and the shading needs care, so it suits stitchers with some experience behind them. The chart is printed with large squares, which helps in the closely shaded areas.

27 count evenweave is usually worked over two threads with one strand of stranded cotton for the cross stitch; apart from the kit you only need a hoop or frame and good light. The frame is not included: given its size, the finished piece looks best framed with a pale mount.
