Description

A bouquet of wild summer flowers designed by Marjolein Bastin, with her soft shading and small natural details: ladybirds among the stems, a bumblebee in flight, grasses and umbels spilling out at the sides. The 27 count evenweave is usually worked over two threads with one strand of stranded cotton per stitch, which gives a fine finish and room for all the colour changes.

With this many shades it is a project for someone with a little experience; a hoop or frame and good light both help. The frame shown in the photo is not included: once finished, wash the work, press it face down and take it to a framer, ideally with a mount.
