Forest Cat

A thick-coated cat sitting quietly, its eyes following a small blue butterfly. The colours stay natural, with many shades of beige, grey and white that give the fur its soft look. The enlarged chart with clear symbols makes it easier to follow the colour changes, even where they are close together.

This is counted cross stitch: the design is not printed on the fabric, so you start from the centre and work from the chart. A hoop or frame and a small pair of embroidery scissors are useful additions; the frame shown is not included. The tall format suits a vertical framed picture once the stitching is done.
