Description

A richly detailed portrait: the woman with her head bowed, flowers in her hair and a pink skirt covered in embroidery is built up from a large number of shades, especially in the skin tones and the fabrics of her dress. Alongside cross stitch, half cross stitch and long stitch are used for softer transitions and fine details.

This is a project for stitchers with some experience of counted work: the 30 count linen is worked over two threads and the chart needs careful following, so a frame or hoop and good lighting help. The frame is not included: once finished, the piece works well framed as a picture.
