Wolf

A close-up portrait of a wolf, amber eyes to the front and pale birch trunks behind: the coat is built up from many shades of grey, white and sand, so the finished piece reads almost like a photograph. It is a good-sized project but a straightforward one, worked entirely in counted cross stitch with no speciality stitches.

The evenweave fabric is usually stitched over two threads, using two strands of stranded cotton for each cross. Everything needed for the stitching is in the box; you will only need a hoop or frame, small scissors and, once finished, a frame, which is not included. The square format suits a picture for a living room or study.
