A wolf howling among the snowflakes, with a bare winter wood suggested behind him: a realistic design worked in greys, whites and browns, where the shading of the fur comes from the gradual blending of the colours. Alongside the cross stitch there are a few long stitches for the finer hairs and details.
The evenweave fabric is worked over two threads for each stitch and gives a dense, even result; a hoop or frame helps keep the fabric taut. The frame is not included: once finished, simply wash and press the embroidery gently before having it framed. A substantial project, best suited to stitchers with some counted work behind them.
