Two herons side by side, with long necks and the soft trailing feathers of the breast, worked in very gradual colour changes: Lanarte often blends two shades in the same stitch to create the transitions, so it pays to follow the chart closely and keep the threads tidy on the organizer supplied.
Counted cross stitch is worked by counting squares on plain fabric, with no printed design; the large-square chart keeps the detailed areas easy to read. You will also need a hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors, which are not included, as well as the frame shown in the photo. A good-sized project to hang in a living room or to give to someone fond of water birds.
