Dancing in Passion

A scene of Spanish passion: the matador seen from behind in his gold and blue suit of lights, and the flamenco dancer swirling her red skirt. The black fabric is left unstitched in the background and makes the colours glow, which gives the piece real depth but calls for good light while you work.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the chart square by square on the Aida, usually with two strands of stranded cotton. With this much coverage and so many shades, it is a demanding project, better suited to stitchers with some experience. You will also want a hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors; the frame is not included and can be chosen once the work is finished.
