Before stitching	It is best to wash the fabric before stitching: all linens shrink by about 3% on the first wash. If the work is only to be framed, washing can be skipped. Apart from white and natural shades (raw), never exceed 35 °C.
Washing after stitching	Never above 30 °C, with a mild soap for delicates (or Marseille soap), without rubbing so the threads do not bleed; rinse with plenty of cold water.
Drying and ironing	Remove excess water by rolling the fabric in a clean towel and pressing, never wringing; dry flat, in the shade, away from heat sources. Iron while still slightly damp, at a medium-high setting (linen/cotton), always from the back, with a soft folded towel under the embroidery so the stitches are not flattened.

Description

Linen Aida brings together the natural, slightly slubby look of linen and the block weave of Aida: the holes stay clearly visible and stitches can be counted easily, even by those who have never worked on evenweave. It suits framed pieces and samplers, cushions, bags, towel and linen borders, and any cross stitch project where the handle of linen is wanted.

Work each stitch over one block, using two strands of stranded cotton for cross stitch and one for backstitch, with a size 24 tapestry needle. Wash the fabric before starting, as linen shrinks on its first wash; a hoop or frame helps keep an even tension and the blocks properly aligned.

Aida very beautiful, and as a color like consistency, because being Flax is soft and smoother to the touch. The color is well suited to embroidery as the beautiful Tyrolean hearts Renato Parolin, especially when embroidering with white thread, with the rustic canvas of this fund, they will stand out and seem embroidered on a rough fabric and old, almost a canvas sackcloth. Also very suitable to pack a "letter pocket" mountain style, similar to that made by Parolin, (My email). Natural paintings are beautiful because they bring to mind the things of the past. Satisfied with my purchase. Cinzia.
