A 100% pure linen, woven from the finest quality bleached flax to this 18 count Aida fabric. This is the perfect choice when a coarser linen is required for cross stitch. Cut of 50 × 55 cm; multiples of the basic cut can be chosen from the drop-down menu below the price.

Before stitching	Linen is best washed before stitching, as every linen shrinks by about 3% at the first wash; work that will only be framed can be left unwashed. Apart from white and natural shades (raw), never go above 35 °C.
Washing after stitching	Never above 30 °C, with a soap for delicates (or Marseille soap), without rubbing, so the threads do not bleed; rinse in plenty of cold water.
Drying and ironing	Remove excess water by rolling the fabric in a clean towel and pressing, never wringing; dry flat, in the shade, away from any heat source. Iron while still slightly damp, with the iron on a medium-high setting (linen/cotton), always from the back, with a folded soft towel under the embroidery.

Description

Zweigart's Linen Aida combines the regular grid of Aida with the handle and look of linen: the blocks stay clearly defined and easy to count, while the surface keeps the natural slubs of the fibre. It suits framed pieces, samplers, bookmarks, cushions, favours and small accessories, and anyone moving from cotton to linen without giving up easy counting.

Work one stitch over each block, using one or two strands of stranded cotton depending on the coverage you want, with a size 26 tapestry needle. Wash the fabric before starting, as linen shrinks, and leave a few centimetres of margin around the design for mounting and finishing.
