An elegant fabric for table linens, samplers, pillows and other decorative accessories. Murano (Lugana 32ct.) is perfect for cross stitch, drawn thread work and other counted thread techniques.

Easy Count is a counting help which is incorporated in the fabric and which disappears after washing.

Before stitching	No need to wash it first: stitch straight onto the fabric, the grid is there to help you count. Cotton and modal is stable and shrinks by no more than 1-1.5% on the first wash
Washing after stitching	Soak the piece for about an hour in water no warmer than 30 °C with a mild soap for delicates, until the grid lines have gone; do not rub, so the threads do not bleed. Rinse in plenty of cold water
Drying and ironing	Remove excess water by rolling the fabric in a clean towel and pressing, without wringing; dry flat, in the shade, away from heat sources. Iron on the wrong side with a soft folded towel under the embroidery

Description

Murano Easy Count Grid is a smooth, firm cotton and modal evenweave printed with a grid that marks off squares of ten stitches: it helps with counting and centring the design without basting lines, and it washes out. A good choice for samplers, table linen, cushions and small framed pieces, and for anyone moving from Aida to evenweave.

Cross stitch is usually worked over two threads with two strands of stranded cotton; one strand is enough for half cross stitch and backstitch. Use a size 24 tapestry needle and plan the final wash even if the piece is to be framed, otherwise the grid stays visible.
