Hannah Dale's pair of Highland cows is stitched on fabric that already carries the printed speckle background of the Wrendale Designs collection: the background needs no stitching and gives the piece instant depth, while the shaggy coats are built up stitch by stitch from the chart. Back stitch sharpens the outlines and French knots add texture to the little flowers.

The threads come ready sorted on the organiser, so there is no sorting to do before you start. All you need to add is a hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors; the frame shown is not included.
