A border collie puppy has fallen asleep in the wheelbarrow, among freshly picked carrots, leeks and pink flowers, while two rabbits come over for a closer look. The design comes from a watercolour by Hannah Dale for Wrendale Designs: cross stitch builds the figures, while back stitch picks out the finer outlines such as whiskers and stems.
The speckled background is already printed on the fabric and needs no stitching, so only the subject is worked and the piece grows faster than its size suggests. A hoop or frame makes stitching easier, and once finished the picture will need a frame, which is not included. The kit comes in plastic-free boxed packaging, ready to give as a gift.
