Christmas Baubles Christmas Card

Red and green baubles hanging from fine threads, with gold stars and the words 'Merry Xmas': the embroidery is worked on Aida and then mounted in the oval aperture of the red card, which comes with its envelope in the kit.

This is not a cross stitch design: the baubles are built up with straight stitches worked like spokes, plus back stitch, both quick to learn and fast to work, so the card can be finished in a couple of evenings. The star sequins are held with a few small stitches, and the metallic threads are easier to handle in short lengths. A small hoop to keep the fabric taut is useful, but not included.
