Christmas Cards - Jolly Holly

Three calves huddled together, one of them wearing a Santa hat, with sprigs of holly around them: a design by Hannah Dale for Wrendale Designs, stitched on Aida that is already printed with the speckled background. Alongside the cross stitch there is back stitch for the outlines and French knots for the small details, so it makes an enjoyable little project for anyone with a bit of practice.

The tri-fold card lets you mount the finished piece without any sewing, and the alternative wording options included mean you can choose the greeting or keep the card for another occasion. All you need to add is a hoop and a pair of small scissors; the embroidery can also be framed instead of mounted.
