Lucy Pittaway's artwork shows two sheep at sunset: the large one leans down towards a smaller sheep holding a sunflower. The canvas is printed in full colour, so there is no counting involved — you simply follow the printed shades in half cross stitch, then add the finer outlines and details in backstitch with the stranded cotton supplied.
Tapestry wool covers the canvas well and gives a firm, hard-wearing piece that makes up beautifully into a cushion: backing fabric, zip and cushion pad are not included, so you will need to buy them separately, or you can frame the finished panel instead. A frame or stretcher bar helps keep the canvas square while you stitch.
