The Morris & Co. Pimpernel pattern worked as a needlepoint cushion: the canvas is printed in full colour, so there is no counting involved — you follow the printed areas, one diagonal stitch per square. Appletons tapestry wool covers the canvas well and gives the finished piece the firm, dense surface you want for soft furnishings.
To turn the stitched panel into a cushion you will also need backing fabric and a pad, which are not included; the model shown is finished with green velvet and piping, available separately. The panel can equally be framed or mounted. With its generous size and wide palette, it is a project to enjoy over time.
