Cushion - Summer Bluebirds

Two bluebirds face each other among scrolling leaves, small flowers and red berries: a symmetrical design in the William Morris tradition, reworked by Karen Tye Bentley. The canvas comes printed in full colour, so there is no counting involved — you simply follow the design. Worked in wool, half cross stitch covers the canvas quickly and gives a dense, hard-wearing surface that suits a cushion.

The backing fabric and cushion pad are not included: once the stitching is done you will need a piece of sturdy furnishing fabric, a zip or buttons and a square inner pad. A rotating or slate frame keeps the canvas square while you stitch. The panel can also simply be framed.
