A hare sitting among poppies, daisies and wild flowers, taken from an original watercolour by Hannah Dale for Wrendale Designs. The soft painterly feel comes through in the shaded threads and in the lightly speckled background, which is printed straight onto the Aida.
The design is worked from a counted chart: as well as cross stitch you will use back stitch for the outlines and French knots for the flower centres, so it suits stitchers with a little experience. The cottons come ready sorted by colour on an organiser; a hoop or frame and good light make the work easier. A frame is not included — the finished square can be framed or made up into a cushion.
