Gorjuss: Firefly Dawn

One of the Gorjuss girls drawn by Santoro London, cradling a jar with a firefly inside, surrounded by yellow buttercups under a sky that shifts from pink to purple. The coloured background is already printed on the fabric: the stitches are still counted from the chart, but the print makes it easy to place them and the piece looks full from the very first session.

As well as cross stitch, the design uses back stitch for the outlines, one French knot and beads, which together with the sparkle thread give the fireflies their glow. A hoop or frame makes the stitching easier. The picture frame is not included: once finished, the work can be framed or mounted on a board.
