Description

The face of a black and white cow, grass still hanging from her mouth, taken from a watercolour by Hannah Dale for the Wrendale collection. The speckled background is printed straight onto the Aida, so it gives the portrait depth with no extra stitching: the work goes into the animal itself, in full cross stitch with a few back stitch outlines.

The stranded cottons come ready sorted and numbered on a card organiser, a real help with a design that has this many shades. You will also want a hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors; the frame shown is not included, but the square format is easy to mount and the portrait suits a kitchen or a country-style room.
