A panel of the Bayeux Tapestry worked in cross stitch: the death of King Harold at the Battle of Hastings, with the Latin inscription and the bands of animals that run above and below the scene. The cottons come bundled by colour, the chart is worked in symbols and 14 count Aida keeps the counting straightforward.
Alongside the cross stitch you will use back stitch for the outlines and lettering, plus a few French knots: both are easy to pick up if they are new to you. You will also need a hoop or frame and small scissors, and the picture frame is not included. Once finished, the landscape format suits a study, hallway or living room wall.
