Two bookmarks featuring Hello Kitty among balloons, little hearts and stars, worked in counted cross stitch on fine Aida. They are small, quick projects that travel well in a bag and can be finished in a few evenings: a nice gift for a reader, and an easy way to try counted work on a manageable scale.
You will also need a tapestry needle and, if you like to keep the fabric taut, a small hoop; the red ribbon shown in the photo and any backing are not part of the kit. The bookmark is finished by hand, trimming the edges and backing the reverse with felt or card.
