A kitten curled up asleep, worked in a range of greys and whites with a single touch of pink on its nose: a lifelike portrait that still stitches up quickly, as there are few colours and the chart is printed with large squares that are easy to follow, even on a first counted project.
You stitch by counting the squares on the Aida, usually starting from the centre and working with two strands of stranded cotton. A hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors are handy, but not included in the kit, and neither is a frame for the finished piece: the fabric is cut with enough margin to frame the work or mount it on a small board.
