A bumblebee drifting over a meadow packed with daisies, clover and pink and lilac wildflowers, with a few ladybirds among the stems: the design comes from a watercolour by Hannah Dale for Wrendale Designs. The speckled background is already printed on the fabric, adding depth without any extra stitching.
The piece is worked on counted fabric following the chart: alongside full cross stitch there are fractional stitches for the petal details, back stitch for the outlines and French knots for the flower centres, so it suits someone with a little experience. A hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors are handy while you stitch; the picture frame is not included and can be chosen once the work is finished.
