A summer meadow scene by Hannah Dale for the Wrendale collection: mice, butterflies, bumblebees, ladybirds and a frog among thistles, rapeseed and bluebells. The Aida has a lightly speckled printed background that adds depth behind the stitching while leaving the holes clear, so the design is counted in the usual way.
It is a large, detailed piece, better suited to stitchers with some practice: alongside full cross stitches there are a few fractional stitches, backstitch outlines and French knots. You will also need a hoop or frame, small scissors and, at the end, a frame, which is not included. Bothy Threads donates 5% of sales to St Barnabas Hospice.
