Dreaming Angels

A pair of dreaming angels worked entirely in shades of sepia: the play of light and dark tones gives the look of an old photograph and brings out the curls and the wings. As a counted design, it is stitched by following the chart and counting the squares on the Aida, with nothing printed on the fabric.

With only a handful of colours and an open-weave fabric it grows quickly and suits stitchers with limited experience too; the threads come ready sorted on the organiser, so you can start straight away. A hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors are useful extras. The frame shown in the photo is not included: once finished, the piece can be framed or mounted on a board.
