Two ready-hemmed placemats to embroider: the flowers and twigs are printed straight onto the fabric, so there is no counting involved and you simply follow the printed lines. The ink washes out at the first wash, leaving only the embroidery behind.
The stitches are the basic hand embroidery ones, explained in the instructions, and they are easier to work with the fabric held taut: an embroidery hoop is not included and is the one thing worth adding, along with a small pair of scissors. Once finished, the placemats go straight onto the table and can be washed as usual; the vases and flowers in the photo are styling only.
