An elegant fabric for table linens, samplers, pillows and other decorative accessories. Brittney (Lugana 28ct.) is perfect for cross stitch, drawn thread work and other counted thread techniques.

Easy Count is a counting help which is incorporated in the fabric and which disappears after washing.

Before stitching	No need to pre-wash: the cotton and modal blend is stable and shrinks by 1-1.5% at most. The Easy Count grid is only removed once the work is finished
Washing after stitching	Soak the piece in water no warmer than 30 °C with a gentle soap, up to an hour, until the grid disappears; do not rub, so the threads do not bleed, and rinse in plenty of cold water
Drying and ironing	Roll the fabric in a clean towel and press to remove excess water, without wringing; dry flat, in the shade. Iron while still slightly damp, always from the back, with a soft folded towel under the embroidery

Description

Brittney is an evenweave fabric in a cotton and modal blend, soft to handle and with a slight sheen: the threads are easy to count even in pale shades, and the Easy Count version carries a printed grid that divides the fabric into ten-stitch squares, handy for transferring a chart and keeping your place on large projects.

It suits samplers, table linen, runners, cushions, bags and small accessories. Cross stitch over two threads gives about 14 stitches to the inch, so use one strand of stranded cotton for a light finish and two for fuller coverage. The grid washes out, so choose colourfast threads, and leave at least 5 cm (2 in) of margin around the design for framing and finishing.
