100% pure cotton fabric with a square pattern of 65x65 cross stitches each. The weave matches that of a traditional 14ct aida, but the special finish of diagonally arranged squares, edged by an elegant plain, solid stripe, makes this fabric the perfect choice for tablecloths of all sizes, runners and centerpieces, baskets, bags, afghans, sofa throws, cushion covers and similar projects.

Please note: natural fabrics such as linen and cotton are dyed in batches and come in different counts (with more or fewer threads per 1 cm in the case of linen and evenweaves, and more or fewer squares per 10 cm in the case of Aida). Description

Gironde is a pure cotton Aida woven with a pattern of diagonally set squares, each one 65 × 65 stitches and framed by a plain band: the squares work as a ready-made layout grid and make it easy to place motifs without measuring every time. It suits tablecloths, runners and table centres, as well as little bags, totes, cushion covers and throws, since the width of the piece allows large pieces to be cut without seams.

Stitching is worked over the Aida blocks, with two strands of stranded cotton for cross stitch and one strand for backstitch, using a size 24 tapestry needle. Pearl cotton no. 8 and variegated threads also work well, in White or in a contrasting shade.
