Two hares meet among the roses in this design by Catherine Rowe, worked in pink, green and brown on a cream ground. The canvas comes printed in full colour, so there is no counting involved: you simply stitch over the design as it appears under the needle. Half cross stitch is worked with diagonal stitches all slanting the same way and covers the open canvas quickly with soft tapestry wool.
To make the panel up into a cushion you will need backing fabric and a pad, which are not included, plus sewing thread and, if you like, a piped edge like the one shown in the finished example. The panel can also be framed or used to cover a stool or chair seat.
