A doe and her fawn among branches, leaves and wild flowers on a midnight blue ground, from a design by Henry Dearle for Morris & Co. The canvas comes printed in full colour, so there is no counting: you follow the printed design and fill it in with diagonal wool stitches. A stretcher frame helps keep the canvas taut and the square true.
Tapestry wool covers the canvas well and gives a dense, hard-wearing surface, ideal for a cushion. To make it up you will also need backing fabric and a cushion pad, which are not included; Bothy Threads sells a navy backing kit separately. The finished piece can equally be framed as a panel.
