The design comes from a Henry Dearle pattern for Morris & Co.: two hares half hidden in the foliage, among red flowers and pink blossom on a deep blue ground. The canvas is printed in full colour, so there is no counting involved — you simply follow the printed design in half cross stitch with tapestry wool, which covers well and grows quickly even over a panel this size.
To make the piece up into a cushion you will also need backing fabric and a pad, neither of which is included (the photo shows the cushion already made up with navy backing and piping). The finished work can also be framed or used as a decorative panel.
