A hen house sliced open to show everything going on inside: nest boxes, ladders, perches and a busy crowd of birds to discover one detail at a time. The design is worked in counted cross stitch on plain fabric, following the chart, so you count the squares of the Aida rather than following a printed outline.
Alongside the crosses there is backstitch for the outlines and a few French knots, which makes it a good choice if you have stitched before. The frame is not included: a hoop or frame will help keep the fabric taut while you work, and the finished piece can be framed or made into a panel. The embellishments are added once the stitching is done.
