A Christmas card to stitch rather than buy: Margaret Sherry's two hedgehogs post their letters while metallic and sparkle threads catch the light on the lettering and the snow. The design is worked in counted cross stitch on white Aida following the chart, then finished with a little backstitch and three French knots.
Once stitched, the fabric is mounted behind the oval aperture of the red triple-fold card, which folds shut and slips into the envelope: both card and envelope are included. All you need to add is a pair of small scissors and, if you prefer, a little hoop. The recipient can even frame the embroidery afterwards.
