The old nursery rhyme about children born on each day of the week, illustrated with baby animals among tufts of grass: a zebra, a leopard, a monkey, an elephant, a fawn, a giraffe and a lion. A line is left free along the bottom for the baby's name and date of birth, stitched with the alphabet and numbers supplied in the chart.
It makes a birth or christening keepsake to give framed: the frame is not included. Alongside the cross stitch you will work back stitch for the outlines and the script lettering, plus French knots for the details, so a little experience helps. A hoop or frame keeps the Aida evenly tensioned.
