An owl drawn as a dreamcatcher, with woven hoops for the eyes and the body and feathers that spread out like flames. The reds, oranges and touches of white stand out against the black ground, which is largely left unstitched and reads as a starry sky.
Dark fabric asks for good lighting and, if you find it helpful, a hoop or frame to keep the Aida taut. The threads come ready sorted on the organiser, so there is no number-matching before you start. Although the piece is a generous size, the colour list is short and the design grows in large areas. The frame is not included: once finished, wash the work, press it face down and take it to be framed.
