A winter scene full of detail: a snowman in his scarf, small birds on the branch, a wooden birdhouse and hanging baubles, against a background of snow-covered cottages and fir trees. The 'Hello Winter' lettering and the decorative bands at top and bottom give the piece the look of a seasonal sampler.
It is worked in counted cross stitch from the symbolic chart, usually with two strands of stranded cotton on 16 count Aida; the threads come ready sorted on the organiser, so the right shade is easy to find. You will also want a hoop or frame and good light, as the stitching is fine. Once finished, the embroidery can be framed or made into a panel to hang through the cold months.
