Sapphire Owl

A sharp-eyed owl built from golden scrolls and layered blues, with the look of hand-painted ceramics. The design is symmetrical and enclosed in a stitched border: the many shades of blue and the gold highlights give depth to the feathers and ask for careful reading of the chart symbols.

It is a fair-sized piece with a wide palette, best suited to stitchers who already have a few counted projects behind them. The threads come ready sorted on the organiser, so you can start without winding and labelling skeins. No hoop or frame is included: once finished, the panel is worth framing, perhaps with a pale mount to set off the white ground.
