Three Halloween characters — a ghost in a witch's hat, a mummy and a pumpkin — worked with a handful of basic stitches on black fabric that is already printed. There is no counting: you follow the printed lines, which wash away once the embroidery is finished, using satin stitch, stem stitch and back stitch as explained in the instructions.
The hoop is included, so it holds the fabric taut while you stitch and then becomes the frame for hanging the finished piece. It is a good project for anyone with little experience and comes together in a few evenings, ready to hang on a door or a wall for the season. All you need to add is a small pair of scissors.
