A ready-made runner, already hemmed, with a band of wild flowers printed down the centre: you simply embroider over the printed lines, with no counting involved, and the print washes away at the first wash, leaving only the stitching. The stitches used are the classics of freestyle embroidery and are quick to pick up with a little practice.
Everything you need is in the kit, threads included: you will only want a hoop to keep the fabric taut and a small pair of scissors. Once finished, the runner can dress a dining table or a sideboard, or make a welcome housewarming gift; the linen-cotton fabric washes and presses easily.
