A square tablecloth, already hemmed, with a garland of lily of the valley printed around the border and in the corners. You simply follow the printed lines, with no counting involved, and only two stitches are needed: satin stitch for the bells and leaves, stem stitch for the stems. That makes it a good choice even with little experience of freestyle embroidery.
A hoop or frame, moved along as you work, keeps the fabric taut and the stitches even. The printed design washes out, so the finished cloth is washed and then pressed from the back on a soft towel, to avoid flattening the raised satin stitch. A pretty piece for a spring table or as a gift for the home.
