Three small pictures to work in counted cross stitch on blue Aida: a robin among red berries, a little rabbit and an owl perched on a frosted branch. The designs are small and quick to finish, so they suit stitchers with limited experience of counted work; backstitch is used only to outline shapes and mark the eyes.
On 18 count Aida one strand of stranded cotton is normally used, together with a size 24 tapestry needle and a small hoop to keep the fabric taut. The frames shown in the photo are not included: the three pieces can be framed alike as a triptych, or made up into scented sachets or Christmas decorations.
