Featuring the same weave of the most traditional cross-stitch fabric - the so-called aida - it only differs in the number of squares: it has, in fact, 14 squares/stitches in 10 cm, thus being a 3.5ct embroidery fabric. Perfect to stitch geometric, modern and quick motifs, both with any 6-ply stranded cotton and with the soft cotton, it is of 100% cotton. Try it to create amazingly up-to-date accessories for your home, such as large cushions, chair covers, table runners and even unusual pouffes!

Description

Turkestan is an Aida with unusually large squares: each cross covers almost a centimetre, so the design grows quickly and counting stays easy even in poor light. It suits beginners, children and anyone looking for a fast project – geometric motifs, lettering, alphabets and modern blocks of colour, made up into floor cushions, chair pads, table mats, bags and poufs.

Thick threads are needed to fill the square: all six strands of stranded cotton, soft cotton, tapestry wool or no. 3 pearl cotton. Use a size 18 tapestry needle and work in the hand or on a scroll frame, leaving at least 5 cm (2 in) of spare fabric on each side for making up.
