The design comes from an original painting by Lucy Pittaway: two sheep seen from behind, watching the balloons rise over the flowering hills. It is worked in counted cross stitch following the chart, with back stitch to outline the legs and the flower stems — a good choice for anyone who has already finished a project or two, and a manageable size for a first larger piece.
The stranded cottons come ready sorted on the organiser, so there is no sorting or winding before you start. The frame is not included: once finished, the piece can be framed with or without a mount, or made up into a cushion. A hoop or frame and a pair of embroidery scissors will also come in handy.
