Five Gold Rings

The whole Christmas carol in one sampler: twelve numbered panels, each with its own bird, dancer or musician, enclosed in a holly border with red bows and hearts. The design is counted, so you follow the chart on the Aida starting from the centre; alongside the cross stitch there is back stitch for the outlines, French knots and couching to hold down the metallic gold thread.

It is a long, detailed piece, better suited to stitchers with some experience. You will also want a hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors; the frame shown is not included. Once finished, this tall panel looks lovely framed and hung up for the holidays.
