The design comes from an original painting by Lucy Pittaway and brings her naive style into stitching: two sheep sitting with their backs to us, watching the sun go down over the water among daisies, pink clouds and distant hills. The sky and the reflections are built up from many shades, so it is a rewarding piece for someone who has already finished a cross stitch project or two.
You stitch by counting the squares of the Aida from the chart, using cross stitch for the blocks of colour and back stitch for the outlines. All you need to add is a hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors, as fabric, threads and needle are in the box. Once finished the piece can be framed; the frame shown is not included.
