Two red pandas, mother and cub, curled into one another in a tangle of tails and fur. The artwork is by illustrator Hannah Dale, whose Wrendale range is known for its watercolour animals. The speckled background is printed straight onto the fabric, so the flecks of colour around the subject need no stitching and the work grows quickly.
It is worked in full cross stitch over the counted squares, with a little backstitch to define the faces. Threads, needle and chart are included; you only need small scissors and, if you like to use one, a hoop or frame. The frame shown in the photo is not included: the finished piece can be framed or made up into a cushion.
